Villa Serena, Miami, FL

Adrienne Arsht purchased and subsequently restored Villa Serena, the 1913 home of William Jennings Bryan, a City of Miami designated Historic structure located along Biscayne Bay and depicted on the map of archaeological conservation areas. The native vegetation of the site, a rockland tropical hardwood hammock, was both salvaged from the overwhelming invasion of exotic invasives and greatly supplemented. Mitigation and planting plans, site and hardscape design and detailing were prepared and permitted, along with all construction documents. Extensive agency review and contractor interaction resulted in the proper translation of the design into form.
